Company Description: The Portchester Brewery uses a traditional gravity fed system of 1/4 Barrel capacity (approximately 43 litres / 9 gallons). This is an all electric set-up with 2x2.75KW kettle elements providing the heat source for both the hot liquor tank and the copper. All vessels are made from food grade plastic as are the connecting tubing, etc. All plumbing is copper and uses standard metric UK fittings. The staging on which the brewing tower sits is make from ~60mm square section pine and the horizontal platforms are made from 10mm internal grade MDF (which needs to be varnished before use - believe me!).
