Company Description: Castle Eggenburg is the oldest family-owned brewery in Austria. Its history can be traced back to the 10th century A.D. Brewed exclusively then for the local people, speciality beers have been produced commercially since 1681. Two hundred years ago, the ancestors of today's owners purchased the brewery, which they have since extended and modernised. The export market has grown to include Europe, Canada, Japan and Singapore, and about ten years ago, Eggenburger began to invest in existing Eastern-European breweries for production under licence for local markets. The total annual output is around 160.000 Hl., brewed according to the German Purity law of 1516. The brewery has been certified ISO 9001.
